Female Genital Piercings
Female genital piercings are body piercings done on female genitalia. This includes all piercings around the clitoris, vulva, labia and perineum. Some of these piercings are unique to the anatomy while others are the same as male genital piercings. Also, there are certain female genital piercings that have their male counterparts. Female genital piercings are more common than people think. There are many women who choose to have at least one genital piercing. The reasons vary, but the most common ones are aesthetics and sexual pleasure. Many female genital piercings are the so-called “functional piercings”, which means that they can enhance sexual pleasure for the wearer.
The most popular female genital piercings are those done on the thin piece of skin around the clitoris. The clitoris itself is rarely pierced: while there is such a thing as a true clitoral piercing, it is a complex and painful piercing that is rarely performed. The most common female genital piercings are Vertical Clitoral Hood piercing (VCH) and Horizontal Clitoral Hood piercing (HCH), along with Triangle piercing. Other popular options include Inner and Outer labia piercings and Fourchette piercing done on the perineum. Rarer but still popular female genital piercing types include Christina piercing and Princess Albertina piercing.
