The genitalia, hidden away it might be, still needs decorating and prettying up. And rather than dunk their junk in a paint bucket, most prefer the simple expedient of affixing all manner of pretty jewelry to their privates. Some of this jewelry might be there for purely aesthetic reasons, but most are meant to dial up sexual pleasure and they can do this during either solo or partner play. Think of the ampallang and apadravya in males, or the clitoral hood piercing in females and you will understand what we are talking about here.
But something that is not all that deeply and frequently explored is the kind of material that genital jewelry is made out of and that is what we are about to do here. So tune in, folks and let’s go have some clit-wagging fun!
Pierced For His Horny Sake!
Ever heard of capitalism, folks? Well, the main goal of capitalism is for everyone to make money hand over fist, even if that means stiffing others. What this means in real-world terms is that there are lots of piercing jewelry manufacturers out there who are in business to make as much money as possible by using the lowest quality materials that they are well aware can be very injurious to health. That is why it always makes sense to be fully aware of the materials that the piercing jewelry you got your eye on, or happen to be using at the moment is made of.
Of course, the main appeal of the more dangerous kind of piercing jewelry out there is that they are cheaper than their better quality counterparts. But is the few dollar difference between quality piercing jewelry found at TheChainGang and other reputable piercing jewelry firms enough to risk skin discoloration, infection, or allergic reactions that trigger extensive and possibly permanent scarring and psychological, plus physical damage? We sure don’t think so, but cheapskates in spades will always feel otherwise.
And now let’s talk about glass. Pyrex or borosilicate glass is extremely inert and very suitable for both fresh and long-healed piercings. It is also very biocompatible, to the extent that it can be implanted under the skin and left there for eons. But there are different qualities of it in the market and some manufacturers are incompetent enough or greedy enough to make their glass piercing jewelry from low-quality recycled glass, which is all too often contaminated with varied heavy metals that don’t mean well for you. So, be sure to get your glass jewelry from the most reputable firms in your area, or you might end up glassy-eyed in the ER.
Titanium is quite possibly the most desirable piercing jewelry materials out there. The Soviets used to craft entire attack submarines out of it and it was a main component of the SR71 Blackbird that ruled the skies and went hither and thither so speedily that no BBC cumshot could ever catch it! Titanium happens to be as strong as steel while weighing way less. It is also not magnetic, is easily sterilized, can’t be seen on metal detectors of the sort found at banks, train stations, and airports, and is excellent at resisting corrosion. This piercing jewelry material is an excellent choice for those who might have metal allergies, as well as folks who are concerned about the durability of what they are buying.
Some of the titanium piercing jewelry at TheChainGang are anodized to give them the ability to compete with the sun in flashy prettiness, while others have a mirror-smooth polish. Wanna show you are badass to the last inch? Then you could be the perfect fit for titanium piercing jewelry that’s strong enough to survive a BJ from a T-Rex!
Up next is a material that’s all too often used on piercings found in TheChainGang- surgical-grade steel. Now, there are varied grades of surgical steel out there and not all are ideal for use in fresh piercings. Plus many manufacturers are all too willing to slap the surgical steel tag on any steel product of theirs that’s the barest bit corrosion-resistant. This is why you should never use “surgical steel” jewelry in any new piercing unless you are sure it was made to the highest standard and is ISO-compliant.
Some of the low-quality surgical steel even contain nickel alloys, which can be troublesome for those with metal allergies. But top-grade surgical steel, like those used in TheChainGang jewelry, can be used by everyone, are easy to sterilize, and fully live up to their name in being able to be used for surgical implants. They won’t even show up on metal scanners and that’s a flex that we can fess makes some vex and trot out the hex!
Niobium is the next genital jewelry type we are gonna cover and it has a lot of the qualities that titanium does. Niobium does not react to the presence of body fluids, is softer and heavier than the titanium it mimics, and can be obtained at almost 100% purity. Producing this naturally pure material is difficult though and it can be more expensive than titanium. But it is readily usable in initial piercings and available in different colors. Niobium genital jewelry sure do put on sweet shows in the genitalia they take up residence in!
Teflon is another excellent genital jewelry material. It is inert, not magnetic, flexible, lightweight, and won’t show up on airport scanners Teflon is highly suitable for both fresh and old genital piercings and not even the stickiest perjury charge from the justice department can stick to it!
And then there is plastics. This has many uses and is a very viable genital jewelry material. In fact, it has been used for that specific purpose for what feels like forever and charms via its light weight, inertness, and unwillingness to react to bodily fluids. Plastic is also non-allergic in the main. But problems can arise when the plastic material used for genital jewelry has porous surfaces where bacteria and toxins can thrive.
Bioplast, on the other hand, is medical-grade plastic that’s flexible and very biocompatible. It is available in varied colors, can be sterilized in autoclaves, and due to the complete lack of nickel content will never trigger an allergic reaction in those with metal sensitivity. It also does not show up on x-rays and is ideal for folks with sensitive skin. This kind of piercing jewelry seems to tick all the boxes and the only thing we hate about it is that it does not confer wealth, riches and access to the worn undies of our favorite celebs!
Acrylic or Plexiglas is a good but not excellent genital piercing jewelry material. Degradation of the material over time can irritate the piercing area and it loves to collect tiny pockets and scratches where bacteria can grow unchecked. This is assuredly not the kind of piercing you want for long-duration usage.
And now it is time to focus a bit on precious metals like gold and silver. Gold in the 18K to 14K range is very good genital jewelry material. Pure or too pure gold would be so soft as to scratch easily, with the scratches being excellent breeding grounds for bacteria. And anything less than 14K would mean the addition of too many alloys to make the gold jewelry body safe. Of course, not too many genital piercing jewelry manufacturers have 14K to 18K gold jewelry in stock. If you want one, you usually have to get it custom made and it sure isn’t gonna be cheap.
But silver is a poor genital jewelry choice. It oxidizes on contact with body fluids to produce silver salt and this will turn the piercing area an unsightly and sometimes permanent black. It is also prone to being scratched and tarnished, with these invisible scratches being preferred breeding grounds for nasty bacteria. Additionally, silver poisoning is a possibility when jewelry made with the metal is worn for a long time in the genitalia. So, our recommendation would be to give silver genital jewelry a very wide berth like you would give a plague ship!
