Daith piercing was first performed in 1992. It was created by piercer Erik Dakota and his client, who named the piercing “da’at” (“knowledge” in Hebrew). It was popularized in Fakir Musafar’s Body Play Magazine and it became one of the most unique ear piercing types.
Daith is characterized by its placement. Since the pierced area is small, there are not many variations of the placement. It has to be done on the innermost cartilage fold, right above the ear canal.
