Nasallang Piercing

Nasallang PiercingNasallang is a special nose piercing made horizontally through the nose. It is also called a “tri-nasal” piercing since it goes through three points on the nose.

Despite this complexity, a nasallang is considered to be a single piercing.

This is one of the rarer nose piercing types.

Piercing and Placement

Nasallang piercing is made out of three different piercing holes performed on the nose. One is made on the right nostril, the other on the left nostril and final on the septum. All these holes are treated as a single piercing and they use the same jewelry piece.

This is a horizontal piercing that goes through the nose, from one nostril through the septum to the other nostril. It can be understood as a pair of nostril piercings and a septum piercing combined into a single piercing.

Nasallang can be understood as a sort of an Industrial piercing, only through the nose instead of the ear. It is also similar to Ampallang – horizontal penis piercing.

This piercing was publicized by Cliff Cadaver in the 1990s. This piercing was first seen on Bobby Brady.

Jewelry

A Nasallang piercing is connected by a single jewelry piece. Typically, nasallang uses on straight barbell as jewelry. The barbell has to be long enough to accommodate all three holes (both of the nostrils and septum piercing).

Therefore, it’s best to use long, Industrial barbells for Nasallang piercing. After all, nasallang is a type of Industrial piercing, so Industrial barbells are best to be used for this piercing type.

Additional Info and Tips

  • Nasallang is typically made low on the nostril, since the same jewelry piece has to go through both the nostrils and septum. However, placement varies from person to person and depends on the individual anatomy.
  • Even though Nasallang connects three piercing holes, it will look like two nostril piercings on the outside, since the septum part of the piercing and jewelry will typically not be seen.
  • Nasallang is usually performed all at once (all three holes at the same time), though it can be performed one by one (doing one hole at a time). Doing one hole at a time is not recommended since placement has to be perfect to connect Nasallang into a single piercing, and small migrations can happen. For this reason, it’s best to perform all three piercings at the same time.
  • Since there are three holes to heal it takes this piercing a bit longer to heal than nostril and septum piercings individually.

  1. Hi. Do you know if there can be used a nasallang piercing for more than an aesthetic piece of jewelry, with a medical function as well? In my case, I was born with both nostrils widely open, not in the Afro chic style, but rather awkwardly ugly. I cannot afford a rhinoplasty surgery at the moment, therefore I was wondering whether I could use a nasallang piercing to bring the nostrils together. I tried with two pens, and it works fine. It definitely improves my appearance, although the problem seems to be that I cannot use the nostrils to get the same amount of air, through my nose. Well, to be honest, until I can make the money for a proper surgery this should do just fine.
    What do you think?
