Done correctly, ball stretching is a perfectly safe practice that improves the basal secretion of testosterone and blood flow to the groin to maintain or increase libido. Many men also experience an increase in the size of their testicles and enhanced sexual pleasure through regular ball stretching.
Does ball stretching hurt?
It will come as no surprise that, if done incorrectly, ball stretching can be painful and cause damage or discomfort to your testes or scrotal sac.
While there are no known adverse effects associated with ball stretching, it is wise to consult your doctor before setting out on your journey to longer balls as they will be able to advise on potential risks based on your body.
Ball stretching requires your body to be warm and relaxed so the ideal time to do it is right after taking bath or shower. Your balls will be more supple so you will achieve better results while also reducing the chances of pain or discomfort.
How to get started with ball stretching?
If you’re interested in taking your first foray into ball stretching, you can start out by just using your thumb and index finger. It is a two-stage technique that takes some getting used to. But don’t worry – provided you are firm but gentle, you shouldn’t do yourself any harm. Despite their tender nature, your balls are actually pretty robust and not as easy to damage as you might think.
Phase one involves wrapping your scrotal sac around your thumb and index finger so that they join to form the ‘ok’ sign and your palm is facing downwards. With a firm grip on your scrotal sac, gently stretch the testicles back and forth. Begin with small movements and gradually build up.
When you reach the bottom of the scrotal sac, maintain the stretch for around 10 seconds. You should stretch your sac a bit further with each stretch. For added stretch, give it a gentle bounce when you think you have reached the lowest point. Do not be over-vigorous at this stage. Remember, successful ball stretching takes time so you need to gradually increase the stretch. Too much too soon can cause damage and will actually set you back.
Phase two requires you to support the base of your scrotum and scoop the testicles up with the palm of your hand. With your testicles cupped in your hand, make they are aligned and facing upwards. Now gently massage them in an upward motion. Gently squeezing your scrotal sac to make your testicles more prominent while doing this will help boost the secretion of testosterone.
How often should you stretch your balls?
Ideally, you should try to stretch your balls up to five times a day. Of course, this isn’t always possible, but most men should be able to manage a ball stretch twice a day. If you shower in the morning and evening, try it after both. You can stretch them while taking a shower if that saves you time, but don’t rush it. Your crown jewels are not to be messed with and one proper stretch per day is better than two hurried attempts. And you can always put in a few extra stretches on your days off to help them swing low.
When to expect to see results of ball stretching
Although you might be keen to see quick results, patience is key. Skin is elastic and will stretch (often further than you thought it might) but then return to its original position. During the first few weeks of your ball stretching regime, it may look and feel as if your balls are returning to their natural resting place. This is to be expected and shouldn’t deter you. Provided you are gradually extending the stretch without pain or discomfort, you are working towards your ultimate goal. It is possible to stretch your balls using just your finger and thumb, but the best results will only be achieved through using ball weights.
How to use ball stretching weights?
Using ball weights is a simple process and most men find it far easier than having to manually manipulate their testicles. It involves using a ball stretcher ring to which you attach weights to help stretch your balls.
The first step to success is finding the ideal ball stretcher. The diameter of your ball stretcher should be around 75 – 80% of the diameter of your balls. To get the size right, take hold of your balls with one hand and use the other to measure your scrotal sac just above your testicles. This is where the ball stretcher ring will be placed. Size is important here. Too tight and you could cut off circulation. Once you have the right ball stretcher for you, the weights you attach to it will help to stretch your balls to your optimum length.
Again, it’s advisable to begin with low weights and build up gradually. The importance of warm, flexible skin remains the same and this is still something that should be done after coming out of the bath. If you’re using a stall ball stretcher, make sure you run it under warm water before attaching it. Cold steel on your scrotum will make it shrivel and tense.
One of the advantages of ball weights is that you don’t have to physically do anything once they are attached. Whereas manual ball stretching requires your time, you can attach ball weights after your evening shower and leave them on for as long as you like. Just be careful not to make any sudden movements.
Whenever and however you attach ball stretchers, it’s important to ensure the skin is completely dry first. Attaching ball stretchers to wet or damp skin can lead to infections. For comfort, you may want to apply a healthy dose of lube to your scrotum before attaching your ball stretcher. This will help prevent rubbing or chaffing but will have no impact on the results.
What to do if you feel pain or discomfort
Ball weights should not cause you pain or discomfort. It’s perfectly natural (and expected) for you to feel the stretch, but it shouldn’t hurt. Think about the feeling of stretching a muscle before exercise and you will have a pretty good idea about what to expect from ball stretching.
If you feel any discomfort, remove your ball stretcher right away. It might be something simple like pinched skin or a trapped hair. The most common reason for pain and discomfort when wearing a ball stretcher is using the wrong size. If this is the case, the discomfort will go away after removing the device. Measure yourself again and take care to get it accurate. If pain or discomfort continues after removing your ball stretcher, don’t rush to get another one.
When first trying a ball stretcher, it’s best to stick to the confines of your own home. You’ll want to make sure it is comfortable and not too heavy. Once you are used to it, you may want to wear it for longer and go outside wearing it. If you choose to do this, be sure to wear loose underwear so you still get the stretching effect. If you choose to increase the weight down the line, make sure you get used to the increased stretch and that you’re fully comfortable with it before heading out into the big wide world with it attached.
The benefits of ball stretching
Ball stretching is a great way to achieve higher levels of testosterone, increased libido and better sex. And who doesn’t want that? Many men balk at the sound of ball stretching because they imagine it will be painful. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Done properly, ball stretching is a pleasurable experience in itself. And it leads to even more pleasure in those moments of intense intimacy.
Starting off slow, building up to using weights and committing to making ball stretching part of your daily routine are the only requirements to getting it right. It’s not something you can force, and it’s not something you can do ad hoc and expect to get results. But it need not be a burden. Sure, it might take a bit of time to get used to at the start and you may well find you’re very aware of it when you begin practicing it in the shower or attaching weights for the first time. But it won’t take long before its part of your life and you stop taking too much notice of it. Of course, you’ll still enjoy that familiar pull, and anytime you increase the weight, you’ll find yourself a little more consciously aware that you’re wearing a ball stretcher. But the main time you’ll be reminded that ball stretching is now a big part of your life is when you have sex.
The regularity and intensity of your sexual encounters will be enhanced by the increased testosterone rampaging around your body and your orgasms will be better than ever. So, isn’t it about time you started working towards lower hanging balls and a better sex life? Try it today. Jump in the shower, warm-up and find out what it feels like to gently stretch those balls.

When applying heavier stainless steel ball stretchers/weights, rather than lubrication intended for sexual intercourse, it’s best to use cocoa butter, shea butter, or something similar to ensure the scrotal skin remains moisturized and supple.
But if using silicone rings or devices for stretching, it’s best to slather with water-based lube. Because water-based lube dries, it’s best to reapply water-based lube several times throughout the day if you’ll wear it for an extended period of time. Do not use silicone- or oil-based lubes with silicone sex toys (ball stretchers, cock rings, dildos, etc.).
I’ve been stretching my balls for about six months or so. A couple things from my experience that I would suggest. I prefer magnetic ball stretchers when possible as the screws can be awkward to tighten especially if you are using more than one weight. Also, measure carefully. Sometimes the inner dimension is tighter than you’d imagine, many are around 35mm but for me 40mm was better and I didn’t get pinched. I’ve gone from 30mm to 90mm (height), so you do see results if you stretch regularly. It’s great to feel weight on your balls and to see the results.
I found magnetic ones pinch more but they are easier to handle. I am going more for weight then length
Yeah you can get still pinched, I suppose I am more used to the magnetic ones. One of the issues I have is that you don’t often see a lot of range with the inner dimensions. A lot of them seem to be 35mm and I need something more like 40mm. They are out there though.
I have been ball stretching now for a few years. I’ve thing I’ve enjoyed is the feeling of weights pulling my balls. Often I wear 1 or 2 of the heavy donut. These are far the best products out there to give your balls the pull they need.
What is easiest way to put ball stretchers on?
I like the oval-shaped rings, I use a silicone ring to rap my balls and then work the ring on and tighten with screw. Also just started using some lube for sliding the ring down to the balls. Great feeling of the tug on my balls
When starting out, do a Power Walk with very loose fitting shorts/pants.
Walk briskly with feet close together – yours balls will be pushed “in front” of thighs.
This gives a controlled bounce off the thigh mussels instead of “swinging in the air” with wide stance. Also allows heavier weight and longer duration sessions.
Every now-and-then, switch to wide stand for “swinging in the air” action.
I’ve been ball stretching fit a while, but recently got a vasectomy. Anyone have experience ball stretching after a vasectomy? Any concerns?
