Everything You Need To Know About Frenum Piercing

Frenum piercings rule and rock. They are so popular that only the Prince Albert got them beat in the genital piercing popularity contest. The usual location for a frenum piercing is the underside of the penis, with such piercings being made horizontally through the frenulum tissue or behind it.

While the thought of having a cock pierced might seem more than odd to some, frenum piercings retain their appeal to those who are convinced of their ability to boost sexual enjoyment and add an extra cool factor to the male organ, So, frenum piercings might be the way to go if you need more sugar ladled to the sweetness of the orgasms you currently enjoy during sexual activity, or love showing off your one-eyed snake in public places!

Now, in this article, we will cover all things about frenum piercings that you need to be aware of. Do feel free to tie us up and have your way with us if we should get boring!

The History Of Frenum Piercings

We would love to say that frenum piercings are as old as the hills, valleys, and lakes that Mother Nature ably blessed this planet with, but that is not exactly so. No one knows who the first man to get a frenum piercing is and all we can say is that he must have been one very brave fucker!

But the first documented act of frenum piercing was recorded in faraway Indonesia in 1884, on an obscure place called Timo Island. The indigenous people of the island were recorded as piercing their frenulum with brass rings, with the sole purpose of this act being increasing sexual pleasure rather than something decorative. Typically, only a single brass ring was used for this purpose, with the islanders not being into the “more is better” philosophy that’s followed by folks into the frenum ladder stuff.

Frenum piercings were largely exotic and unheard of in the West till the gay and BDSM community began dabbling in it sometime in the middle of the last century. Slowly it gained widespread acceptance and here we are now with cocks that look kind of bare and shameful without frenum piercings adorning almost every inch.

The Frenulum- A Description

Frenum piercings are typically performed on the frenulum. The frenulum is an elastic band of tissue and it joins the foreskin to the penile glans.

On uncircumcised penises, the frenulum is notable for protruding, and rolling down the foreskin will make it look like a flap. Circumcision removes most of the frenulum, leaving a cord or seam that goes from the urethra to the remainder of the foreskin and that’s bad if your main aim in life is to be the cumming champion of your area!

The frenulum is a very sensitive motherfucker and for most, it is the most sensitive part of the dick. 10 gauge or 8 gauge barbells are typically used in frenulum piercings. Such piercings can also be performed at the top and sides of the cock for those who like going all-out.

What Is A Jacob Ladder or Devil’s Ladder?

The first mention of a Jacob ladder that we know about came from the holy book. A fella named Jacob was said to be sleeping when a ladder reaching from the earth to the heavens appeared, with angels ascending and descending on this. How such a story came to be associated with frenum piercings is what we lack the energy to explain and we are sure y’all will bear with us!

Anyway, the term Jacob ladder serves to describe multiple piercings on the shaft of the penis. These are usually a half-inch or less apart and there could be 3 to 20 depending on the needs and wants of the wearer.

While Jacob ladders can be an impressive sight, we do suggest getting no more than three frenum piercings in total and that’s because inflammation and risk increase with the number of piercings adorning a penis. Plus with multiple piercings, it’s gonna be harder to have them all perfectly lined up like ducks at a shooting gallery or marines at a parade. But you don’t have to take our word for it- line your cock with all the frenum piercings you like and come tell us about your experience sometime soon!

How The Piercing Is Done

First, you need to meet with a competent and experienced piercer and discuss terms. Then he/she will sit you down, put on sterile gloves and sterilize the chosen area, mark where the needle needs to go in and out, and slowly push the said needle through. Forceps will then be used to hold the hole open while jewelry is inserted. The area is then cleaned and bandaged, with advice on the tender care due to it being offered.

Frenum piercings can be painful, but individual experiences vary, with some reporting moderate to intense pain, while others barely felt a thing.

Benefits of Frenum Piercing

There are loads of benefits to frenum piercings or no one would be doing it. For the wearer, the biggest benefit has to be the fact that they get to customize their body part to their taste. Plus due to their location on the frenulum, frenum piercings make for increased stimulation during solo, oral, vaginal, and anal intercourse.

For sexual partners, frenum piercings enhance penetrative sex. They do this by stimulating more nerves than usual in the clitoris, vagina, and anus. Yeah, getting taken to pound town by a dick with a frenum piercing is quite the occasion!

Piercing Issues and Aftercare

Frenum piercings normally heal in 2 to 3 weeks. But in the first few weeks following the piercing, swelling, redness, and slight bleeding is common.

The bleeding can be mopped up with sanitary napkins and the area around the piercing must be kept clean and dry. That means no swimming in the community pool or the ocean, no touching the area with dirty hands, and no getting it wet in the shower if that can be avoided. Thankfully pain, especially of the throbbing kind is rarely experienced, but you can expect the head of the penis to be sensitive to the touch for a few weeks at the least.

Should you get a piercing, do endeavor to clean it at least twice daily in the shower. Hot soaks in a combination of saline solution and warm water twice daily are also recommended. For obvious reasons, tight-fitting clothing should be avoided. So, wear loose clothes and undies for the first few weeks at least, and try not to get kicked in the groin!

Be sure to make a beeline to the emergency room if issues like unusual swellings, intense and growing pain, a smelly discharge, unusually hot skin, a bad smell, and itchy bumps are experienced soon after the piercing. Doing so can save your life. That said, frenum piercings usually go without hitch and heal without fuss. Most issues arise when unqualified and incompetent piercers are used, so make sure you go to the best piercer in town.

As regards sex, you can do the nasty whenever you feel comfortable enough. But do remember that you have a healing wound -the frenum piercing- and be sure to only engage in sexual intercourse with a trustworthy partner and use protection regardless for at least half a year. Water-based lube is best for use with frenum piercings and it would be a good idea to give the area a good cleaning after sexual intercourse, just to be on the safe side.

Do note that having a piece of metal in your cock puts you at increased risk of contracting STIs. The weight of the metal in the scar tissue that forms makes you more susceptible to tears and trauma down there, no matter how gently you are hitting it and no matter how long ago the piercing happened. So, if frenum piercings appeal to you and you end up having it done, that means being extra cautious about sex from then on.

Types Of Jewelry Used In Frenum Piercing

Usually, the location of the intended piercing and the needs of the person being pierced will determine the jewelry used. This jewelry is nominally of three types and can be made of steel, titanium, gold, platinum, niobium, and biocompatible polymers. The main types of frenum piercings are:

  • Captive Bead Ring– this is a circular ring with a removable bead
  • Straight Barbell– this is a straight piece of jewelry with beads at each end and these are usually removable
  • Curved Barbell– the same as the straight barbell with removable beads at each end. The only difference between the curved and straight barbell is that the latter is rod-like, while the former is curved.

Conclusion

Frenum piercings are decorative and functional artifacts that make the penis look cool and there are several pros and cons to their use. Should you get these piercings, we are confident that massively sweet and orgasmic times are in store for you and wish you the best!

  1. I have sevenstraight barbells on my Jacob’s ladder, a Prince Albert; and a curved barbell guiche. They are supplemented with a vairiety of penile inserts and a medium-size butt plug.. ALL have given me great pleasure, especially when engaged in solo enjoyments. At 84 years, bi-sexual, circumcized, bi-sexual and very happily and contentedly married to an understanding and accepting older woman, I am quite content in my identity and with my body. During an EKG procedure, the radiologist had to remove a spear-point nipple ring, which I intend to have reiplaced soon.,

    • Weldon, your post has me interested to know more about you…..I’m a 60 married closeted bi….no way my wife would tolerate anything close to what yours does. Tjohn 1962 @ yahoo . Com

  3. So good, mine is now stretched and I sport a 0 guage monster ring which sits behing my circumcised glans head

  4. I have been contiplating a frenum piercing for a while. While I like the idea, I have not found any information on removing it after the initial piercing if I changed my mind. My question is if the jewelery (straight barbell) is removed, will the tissue heal and return back to its normal shape with the exception of a scar where I was pierced? I am circumcised and how bad will the scar look? Please help!

    • Hi Eric,
Everyone is different, some will heal up completely and others while have the piercing hole for life, but honestly the hole is barely noticeable at all especially being on the bottom of the penis.
