These are Internally threaded. Just screw the ball on and off, that is all there is to it.

No more fumbling with the beads of a Captive Bead Ring or needing tools if you wear a larger gauge. There is a slight gap between the ball and the ring, which is rounded and highly polished, once you remove the ball it can easily be inserted to most any piercing.
