Post Body Piercing Care – Personal Care & Hygiene

Body PiercingWalking out of a piercing parlor with a body jewelry piece brilliantly glinting on your eyebrow, ears, tongue, labret, nose or places that cannot be seen? The excitement and the awesome feeling of having got your body pierced helps to ignore the pain. However, just don’t think you did it and are done too early as the painful procedure may be over but the hard part is still to come – taking care of body

The piercer’s done his job and given instructions. Now it’s up to you and how you care for it will determine whether it’s rejected or stays. So read on and follow the instructions through and through to avoid infections and still have a shiny body jewelry sparkling on your eyebrow, labret or ears, even after

  • Never use alcohol or peroxide to clean the pierced area. These are not safe and may enhance the chances of getting an infection. It dries out the skin too.
  • Do not let the body piercing come in contact with other people’s body fluids (sweat, saliva, or anyt others).  Just keep the pierced area off limits for a few days.
  • Avoid diving into public swimming pools before your piercing is fully accepted by the body and is totally healed.
  • Don’t move the body jewelry pierced inside your skin. It may result in a bruise. Just let it be.

And if it has been sometime now and the body piercing still has not healed then go to a doctor.

Follow the above instructions and keep the jewelry and yourself shining!
