Getting a Septum Piercing
The septum piercing is not to be confused with the nostril piercing. Your septum is the cartilage in your nose that separates the nostrils. The septum is normally pierced in the front or tip of the cartilage in the nose.
There are a lot of different jewelry options for your Septum Piercing you can use Circular Barbells, Captive Bead Rings, or Septum Retainers until this piercing has healed. The Septum Retainer is recommended if you have a job that does not approve of this piercing because you can turn the Jewelry Up into your nose and it not visible. Now after it heals your can wear those same pieces or you can also wear a tusk and several other types of decorative Jewelry.
The healing time on this piercing varies between 12 and 16 weeks. This piercing will require more cleaning than a noramal body piercing due to bacteria and mucus that is in your nose. That mucus and bacteria filter can add to the risk of infection, so do not take this piercing lightly. If you want it the septum piercing, it will take time and a lot of cleaning to get this piercing to heal. But when you do it will always be yours to decorate any way you would like.
